Step Up Oklahoma

Oh man, what a trip! Yesterday our class drove to Oklahoma City to stand up for the Step Up Oklahoma bill in the Capitol Building.

We talked to many representatives about HB 1033. We tried to convince them to vote yes on teacher pay raises. We went from floor to floor talking to representatives about the bill. Some listened and others did not. Either way we tried to get our point across. While others decided to scream, we silently held signs with a teacher's name that had gone above and beyond for us.

Overall I really enjoyed the trip. It opened my eyes to what our representatives encounter everyday.
